Drivers and barriers for city shopping: Perspectives from retailers and consumers in regional Australia

The decline of retailing in cities is well documented the international literature, but to date there has been little research Australia. objective this study, conducted regional Australia, examine drivers and barriers for city shopping, motivations out-of-town shopping. Responses (n = 367) show store variety, customer service, car parking overall offering experience are important whilst expensive parking, empty shops, lack amenities variety commonly cited barriers.
